Chris and Julie chat with Helen Gridley - Recruitment and Retention Manager for Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue

Chris and Julie were delighted to welcome Station Manager Helen Gridley into the studio today, Helen is the Recruitment and Retention Manager for Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue. Helen started by explaining that Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue employ two types of Firefighters in the County, Wholetime Firefighters and 'On Call' Firefighters. Wholetime Firefighters are employed full time at nine Stations in the County and 'On call' Firefighters respond to their Stations when alerted. For the first time in three years a recruitment campaign will take place in August for Wholetime Firefighters and applications will only be accepted from current Lincolnshire residents. Recruitment for the equally important role of 'On Call' Firefighters is a year round task. Helen explains the attributes they are looking for in applicants to both roles.
